Concrete Expo 2010: April 13 at The Grove Events Center

Concrete Expo 2010 - Meeting the challenge of rebuilding the country’s infrastructure through public-private partnerships and the use of sustainable concrete to achieve lower lifetime costs are the highlighted topics at the 11th annual Sierra Nevada Concrete Association’s Concrete Expo 2010, Tuesday, April 13 at The Grove at South Creek Events Center in Reno, NV.

Approximately 200 contractors, engineers, public works officials and other construction professionals are expected to attend the day-long symposium. On line registration is available at www.sierranevadaconcrete.com/expo

The morning session will feature Richard Norment on Public-Private Partnerships: Reinvesting in America’s Infrastructure. Norment, Executive Director of the National Council for Public Private Partnerships, will also focus on long-term pavement solutions as a key ingredient to the Public-Private-Partnership movement across the nation, bringing better returns on profitability through sustainability.

The afternoon session feature two topics presented by James W. Mack, Director of Market Development for CEMEX: Rehabilitation and Renewal: Concrete’s Long-Term Value to Communities and Converting from Asphalt to Concrete Parking: A Smart Step to Sustainability.

The lunch presentation will feature a recap of the University of Nevada, Reno’s Concrete Canoe Team’s 2009 season and a preview of this year’s competition as the team seeks to improve on its top five finish in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) National Concrete Canoe Championship.
The Sierra Nevada Sierra Nevada Concrete Association (SNCA) is an active force in promoting the use of quality concrete for all types of construction, and to benefit all aspects of the community. The SNCA provides public officials, engineers, architects and private developers with access to information regarding concrete in the Northern Nevada/California region.
